Kirk Fenton News
6th September 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
Welcome back to another new school year and a special welcome to all the new families and pupils joining Kirk Fenton this year. We have three new members of staff - Mr Symes joins us in Sycamore class and Mrs Slater in Willow Class. Mrs Hey has joined us taking over from Mrs Thandi and she will be working across all classes. I am sure you will make them all feel welcome.
This week has flown by and the children have settled well into their new classes. We have had visits from Reverend Simon and chosen our new team captains and Head boy and girl. Congratulations to Evie and Liam!
This year I will be producing a termly Head Teacher's newsletter giving you a more in depth view of the school but for now you should have received a class newsletter giving you details of what your child will be learning this half term. Please speak to your child's teacher if you haven't received this or check our school website.
Finally for now, you may be aware of the road closures in place on 27th September for the UCI Cycling World championships. As our school is not directly on the route we are unable to close for the afternoon however I expect that there will be hold-ups and some degree of disruption. I have decided therefore that, whilst school remains open as usual, parents will be able to collect their children from 2pm. This should allow you to get home before the roads close. I am working with the bus companies at present and will let you know how they will work once I know.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams
Head Teacher
