A burn causes damage to the skin or deeper tissues cause by the sun, hot liquids, fire, electricity, or chemicals.
Symptoms
Symptoms range from a feeling of minor discomfort to a life threatening emergency, depending on the size and depth. Treatments depends on the severity.
1st Degree Burn
Most common in sunburns
Epidural burn
Heal within 7-10 days without scarring
2nd Degree
Intense pain
Appears red, blistered, and may be swollen
No to minimal scarring
Involves epidermis and part ofdermis
3rd Degree
Most severe
Damages Nerves
Waxy and white colored
Blisters that do not develop
Heals with severe scarring
