Calling All Authors and Illustrators!
Well, dig out those old essays and artwork or create something new.
The NCLA will release its first Falcon Anthology in June 2016. Our anthology will be available for purchase at The NCLA and on Amazon.com.
If you are interested in publication, please read the submission guidelines below. Submissions are open to students and staff of The NCLA.
Submissions Guidelines for Authors
$5 non-refundable submission fee.
Name: Include your full name as it should be printed in the anthology.
Format: Typed, 12 point Times New Roman font, double-spaced pages.
Each submission may be:
A Short Story - Up to seven double-spaced, typed pages or
Poetry - Up to three poems (no more than seven double-spaced pages in total)
Submit your work to Mrs. Bullard on or before April 5th as an EMAIL ATTACHMENT TO cbullard@thencla.org. You may email these before April 5th.
You are responsible for one illustration. You may provide your own, or encourage your talented friend to create one for you. See the Submission Guidelines for Illustrators below.
Submissions Guidelines for Illustrators
$5 non-refundable submission fee.
Name: Include your full name as it should be printed in the anthology.
Format: The anthology will be printed in black and white. Your artwork should be a black and white illustration. Simple line drawings work the best but be sure your sketch isn't too light. You can check this when you scan your artwork.
Email a JPEG of your illustration to Mrs. Bullard on or before April 5th as an EMAIL ATTACHMENT to cbullard@thencla.org. You may email these before April 5th.
Note: If you are the author and illustrator, you will only pay one submission fee.
The Fine Print
If they are not, your work will not be included in the anthology.

Short stories and poetry are returned to authors for editing. If you do not wish to make the suggested changes, your manuscript will not be considered for the anthology. Remember the $5 submission fee is non-refundable regardless of whether or not you choose to publish.

Illustrations are returned to artists for editing. If you do not wish to make the suggested changes, your illustration will not be considered for the anthology. Remember the $5 submission fee is non-refundable regardless of whether or not you choose to publish.
April 15, 2016
Final copies of short stories, poetry, and illustrations are due to Mrs. Bullard along with a verification form. This form affirms you are submitting your own work and must be signed by you and your parent or guardian.
If work is not turned in by April 15, 2016, your manuscript and illustration will not be included in the anthology. Again, remember the $5 submission fee is non-refundable.
