June BUZZ
The Prince Charles School
Dear Families at Home,
May has been an extremely busy month at The Prince Charles School! We have had a variety of excellent opportunities for students including the Math Mondays, Local Government Day, the Marathon Club Finale and Junior Track and Field Day.
Thank you to all the families who returned the moving survey in May. This survey helps us to plan for the 2018-2019 school year and avoid as much as possible, classroom shifts in September. The staff organization for the next school year is listed later in the newsletter.
June is a time for goodbyes and best wishes as some of the Staff move on to different adventures. Mme. LeBlanc, Mme. Rodriguez, Mr. Strand, Ms. Jones and Mr. Skelley have all been filling in on long term assignments this year and we are so thankful for all of the different ways that they have contributed to making TPCS a fabulous place to learn and grow this year. We wish all of those leaving the very best and hope that they remember that they will always BELONG at The Prince Charles School. We are excited to welcome back Mme. Carrie, Mme. Proulx and Mme. Stinson and are looking forward to seeing these familiar faces in the hallways of TPCS in September.
Please refer to the calendar on the school Twitter feed for the most current information on upcoming events. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Road Racing
We were very excited to have over 40 students from The Prince Charles School that represented our school at the LCVI and NDSS road races in May. Students from Grades 3 to 8 have had the opportunity to practise running during Running Club, Road Race Team and/or during Daily Physical Activity /Physical Education classes. We have been overwhelmed by all of the interest, effort and enthusiasm! The atom girls team finished 1st at the LCVI Road Race and the NDSS Hawk Run. Way to go girls!
Our Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2 students also ran during Physical Education and Daily Physical Activity. We hosted our own Mini Stinger Road Race on the pavement around the school on May 22nd. We were so impressed by the effort and overall fitness level of all of our primary students.
Most importantly, congratulations to all of our Stinger runners from Kindergarten to Grade 8 for competing and trying their very best. We are proud of your achievements!
Colour House News
We continue to enjoy lots of different Colour House activities. Outdoor Dance Club has been very popular in May. Colour House Spirit Day is on June 27th. Please dress in your Colour House colours. In June, the Colour House leaders are planning an "End of the Year” Colour House Spirit Day on Wednesday, June 27th. There will be colour house activities in the morning and then we will be having a picnic at 12:50 pm. Every child will be given a drink and a hot dog. Please consider sending in a snack for your child to share with his/her classmates. Families are welcome to attend and we hope to see lots of you there!
