News and Information
THANK YOU!
A huge thank you to our field trip chaperones: Mr, Hawkins, Mr. Bradford, Mrs. Mendoza, Ms. Kelly, Mr. Hite and Mrs. Kabel! It was a fantastic day at the museum. The kids did a wonderful job on the bus and at the museum. I'm so proud of how they represented Converse and Oak Hill!
ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED A LARGE PAPER GROCERY BAG at school by May 22nd. (Or a reusable bag that has a flat bottom and can stand on its own)
Outdoor recess - As spring is approaching please continue to send warm coats with your child. Our morning recess is still cold, even though it warms up later in the day.
Reading
We are working on a chapter book, The Chalkbox Kid. Each chapter reviews skills we've worked on throughout the year: comprehension, fluency, characters, setting, plot, character traits, types of questions, summarizing, maid idea and details.
Reading Homework: There will be no more reading homework from me this year! There is too much going on here at school and with baseball, soccer and softball I know everyone is busy at home too! Thanks for your help with this throughout the year- it has made a tremendous difference in our fluency and comprehension skills!
