Badger — The badger is found throughout the state, except the extreme eastern parts.
Bat — Thirty-two species of these winged mammals have been found in Texas, more than in any other state in the United States.
Bear — The black bear, formerly common throughout most of the state, is now surviving in remnant populations in portions of the Trans-Pecos.
