Simple, compound, or complex sentences
A compound sentence uses a FANBOYS to combine two complete sentences together with a comma. A complex sentence uses a subordinating conjunction to combine two clauses (one independent and one dependent). Subordinating conjunctions are: as, after, before, because, while, where, when, if, unless, although, even though, whenever, during, since, and until.
