Monday Morning Bearcub Brief
Volume LXXXI--12 November 2018
"Every CUB stepping up, reaching out, moving forward!"
Kleb Kudos
My second kudos goes to Kleb Theatre. Our Kleb Theatre group also visited the Texas Renaissance Festival last week and placed 1st and 2nd out of 33 teams for their stage in the Group Scenes category. Our Theatre class also teamed up with Ulrich's choir to take the students and parents to see "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Hobby Center. What a great week of supporting the development of the whole learner and creating memories for our students, great job Theatre!
Cubs of the Week

Huggins Highlights
Teachers, just a reminder our November faculty meeting is this Wednesday, November 14th. At this meeting, we will have our normal round of nuts and bolts, but a large portion of our time will be set aside for a question and answer session with Dr. Champion.
Today, Monday, November 12th, we will continue our tradition of hosting the annual Veteran's Day Breakfast at Kleb Intermediate! The breakfast starts at 8am, so we will be on silent passing periods during entry and possibly the passing period between 1st and 2nd period. Please plan on being on campus and in your room by 8:15am so that you can receive students (there won't be a place for them before school since the cafeteria will be full!).
Finally, can you believe that final exams are just around the corner? Here is the exam schedule for your reference:

Parents, Kleb's Culture 4 Caring Club is participating in their first community service project...Treats for the Troops. Partnering with the Care Packages for Troops organization, the students are asking for candy (possibly too much collected on Halloween) and/or other packaged treats such as goldfish, fruit snacks or granola bars, to package and send to the military in our communities. Care Packages for Troops will help them with boxing the treats and pay for the shipping of the donations. The students will put the packages together on Thursday, November 15. Please send donations this week (Mon.-Thurs.). We would appreciate your help with making this project a success by donating candy towards our mission to promote kindness and show our troops how much we appreciate their service!
Additionally, the beginning of the year MAP results are coming home today! Scores for reading, math and science will be distributed through your Bearcub's ELA class in addition to each student getting a personalized email with goals and resources to improve before the middle of year testing in January. See the informational letter attached to your Bearcub's results for more details.
Kleb CUB Award of the Week
Kati Layton
I am nominating Mrs. Layton. The hard work she does during and long after the school day shows an incredible dedication to the quality education of her students. She does a fantastic job in making engaging lessons that are tailored to the needs of each student. Her hard work and dedication are an example of our Kleb traits!
From Mr. Tice
From the PTO President
Hi parents! In case you missed it, we held a ‘virtual PTO meeting’ at Open House, but we did have some technical difficulties, so many of you did not get a chance to see it. Here are the highlights:
- New this year: register to follow our account on Remind so you can stay updated on events around school and ways to be involved: text @klebpt to 81010
- Please join the PTO! Your $10 membership ($5 for faculty/staff) makes a BIG difference in our ability to fund our giving projects, AND it gives us the ability to include you on email votes to help us decide on fundraisers and how we will use our money to best benefit the school and students. Help us hear your voice by joining PTO – envelopes are in the front office, or check your kiddo’s backpack to see if one is swimming around in there from the second week of school ;) Remember, PTO Membership doesn’t come with any expectations from you, aside from replying to a vote. Of course we’re happy to have you as a volunteer if you’re willing and able, but it isn’t a requirement for membership
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions/suggestions or if you would like to get involved/volunteer. You can drop notes in the blue mailbox in the front office, or message me through Remind. Thanks – looking forward to a successful year!
