Newsletter for PHES Students and Families

January 22, 2022

If the walls of Providence Hall could talk, they would be crying "I miss the kiddos" 😪

We're so happy to have our students and staff back on Monday! We can't wait to see you.

MASK UPDATE: As you have probably heard, the Utah State Legislature overturned the Salt Lake County mask mandate. Effective immediately, the only students required to wear masks will be those in quarantine per the health department guidelines. If your student needs to quarantine at any point you will hear from our school nurse. Of course, students are still welcome to wear masks and we will continue to support each family's right to make health decisions for their children.

Lost and Found

Hey Families,

It's been about 2 months since our last Lost and Found campaign, and my goodness look at all the items students have left behind! We ask that you come in by the end of the day Friday, January 28th, to retrieve any items that belong to your student. After that any remaining items will be donated to charity.

All items will be on the tables in the hallway on the Kinder/1st Grade side of the building. Come on in 8am-4pm.

Thank you!

Health Class for 4th and 5th Grade

Hey Parents of 4th and 5th graders, the PE teachers would like to share with you the health curriculum they are currently using with your students.
Big picture
Botvin is a state required health curriculum for 4th and 5th graders in Utah. This program has been given to schools to implement and teachers undergo training on how to implement the curriculum. Prior to the 2018-2019 program implementation, a request for proposals was sent to over 1,100 vendors through the USBE. The proposals received were scored by a committee. The Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) program was selected as the program that met the requirements as found in UCA § 53G-10-406 and R277-910.

If you have friends or family interested in bringing children to Providence Hall, please let them know that NOW is the time to enroll.
