Take Responsibility, Always Growing, Better Together
February 17, 2023
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
I don't think there is any more interesting month than February. It has always felt, to me anyways, like a month that only has highs and lows (think sine wave) That is why staying focused on what really matters and what I can influence is so important. There are going to be events that happen this month, really every month, day, minute that impact us and how we choose to respond will impact our outcomes.
How do we achieve more desirable outcomes? DISCIPLINE. The ability to remain disciplined is so important when we are dealing with events especially those "up" and "down" ones. Here some ways to help you respond with discipline:
- Be focused.
- Have a process and enjoy it!
- Anticipate: there are events that you know are on the horizon (a test, Anniversary, etc.)
- Have courage. Don't let a setback keep you down. Doing hard things will make us better.
We are all on the journey together and we can do it!
Have a wonderful long weekend and we will see everyone on Tuesday!
Better Together,
Mike

School Day SAT
Upcoming High School SAT Testing
On March 2, Dublin City Schools will administer the SAT School Day assessment to all current juniors. This state-funded assessment is required by the state. All freshmen and sophomores will operate on their normal schedule during this day. Juniors will follow their schedule after they complete the assessment.
Seniors will engage in a variety of opportunities outside the school setting during this day. Seniors will not be required to report to their home high school on March 2. Additional information for seniors can be found here.
ASVAB TESTING-Career Exploration Program
The ASVAB, the most widely used multiple aptitude test, assesses a student's ability to learn new skills and is a predictor of success in training and education programs. It includes an interest inventory and other activities and resources designed to help students explore the world of work and gain confidence in making career decisions.
We have the opportunity to conduct the ASVAB testing for all interested 10th, 11th and 12th graders at Jerome High School on February 23rd. Call Mrs. Vaccari in Guidance for more information and how to sign up at 614.718.8275.

CELTS, LEAVE YOUR MARK AT DUBLIN JEROME WITH A COMMEMORATIVE BRICK
With the new addition to Dublin Jerome High School, the commemorative brick patio is also getting some additionsβ¦ your personalized Celtic Brick. The current brick patio was installed in 2014 to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the DJHS as a gift from that yearβs senior class. Who knew that less than 10 years later, we would need the current additions to accommodate the incredible growth in our schools? The original patio will be relocated to the front of the school near the new school addition in the summer of 2023. The relocation allows us to add additional bricks to complement the original memorial bricks.
This is your opportunity to purchase a beautiful, engraved brick paver to celebrate and memorialize students, alumni, school team, club, organization, or your favorite teacher in a meaningful and unique way that is forever set in stone.
Fill out the information below to purchase your Celt Brick and then donβt forget to come to see your commemorative brick during the grand opening of the school next fall.
4x8 bricks are $100 and can have up to 4 lines with up to 21 characters per line (Recommended: 3 lines, 18 characters). All proceeds go directly to the PTO to support all students and teachers at Dublin Jerome.
