A Message from Proud Principal, Laura Clark
The long weekend allows us an extra day to spend with our kiddos but it also allows us the opportunity to honor and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday. In today’s world, I draw your attention to one of my favorite Dr. King quotes: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." Dr. King invites us to look to the light, to look to love, and share this with our children so that future generations love and respect one another.
In celebration of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, GCPS once again is partnering with the United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County, Inc. to host the 20th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on January 20 at Moore Middle School. All students and their families are invited to attend the celebration. The theme will be "The time is always right to do what is right". Lauren Seroyer is this year's Parade Grand Marshal! Lauren is a graduate of Peachtree Ridge High School class of 2018. Having Lauren serve as Grand Marshal definitely brings a lot of PRIDE to our ONERIDGE community. Hope you can come out and join in the celebration.
Have a wonderful 3 Day Weekend making memories with your kiddos.
Proud to be your Principal,
Mrs. Clark

STEM Night
Parsons Elementary School
Tuesday, January 28, 2020
6:00 - 8:00 PM
All Parsons families are invited to join us for STEM Night. Students and their families will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of STEM related activities. This year we are also starting a new tradition. During STEM Night, we are asking that all students sign up for a 15 minute time period to share the excellent STEM and PBL work they have done in their classrooms. White this is not required, it does provide students an excellent opportunity to practice their communication skills and share what they have learned with our school community. They are then free to spend the rest of STEM Night enjoying the STEM activities and seeing what other students are sharing. You can find a link for your child to sign up to share their STEM learning in your child's class newsletter. Please note that each grade level has its own sign up, so please don't sign up children in different grade levels using the same link. Thanks for supporting the awesome STEM learning happening at Parsons!
