This week we celebrated Red Ribbon week in an effort to celebrate all of the positive reasons to stay away from drugs. Our students dressed in school colors wore the jersey of their favorite sports team and dressed up as their favorite book character. The creativity was amazing.


Next Thursday, November 4, 2021 we will hold our annual Simonton ES Literacy Night. This si a great evening for the entire family. There will be games, a photobooth, storytime and more. WE are excited to have the GCPS bookmobile out for a visit. All students who visit will receive 1 free book. Join us from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.

Book Character Day Parade

Our students truly celebrated their love for reading this past Thursday as they dressed as their favorite or most beloved book character.

Our retake Day was scheduled for Friday, October 15th. Lifetouch rescheduled this event for Thursday, November 4th. If your child(ren) are in need of having their pictures retaken, please mark this date change on your calendar. Our Lifetouch pictures will be featured in this year's yearbook!

SES STUDENT HANDBOOK REMINDERS ~ BIRTHDAYS

Birthday celebration snacks for the entire class should be left at the front office for the teacher and your child to give to the class. They should be store bought, ready to serve, require no refrigeration or cutting, and should not include drinks. Please be aware of allergies of students in the classroom and plan accordingly. No class birthday parties or birthday favors (balloons, goody bags, hats, etc.) will be permitted. No invitations for parties may be passed out while at school. Birthday invitations may not be sent to school unless every student in the class receives an invitation.

Students may bring a nutritious snack to school. In compliance with state standards, students are not to bring food from “fast food” restaurants. This includes carbonated drinks such as sodas.
