Principal Points- June

As I look back at my first year at Crystal Springs, I think about how grateful I am for all of the support from the staff, children, and parents. This has been an incredible year and I have learned a great deal. Please look for a newsletter in August with all of the important information for the 2019-2020 school year! I hope to see you all on June 24th for the End of Year Barbecue!

End of School Barbecue- Last day of school!

Kindergarten Connection

Welcome new Kindergartners for the 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to see you this Wednesday from 6:30- 7:30 in the gym at Crystal Springs!

Why is it important for your child to arrive at school on time?

Some gains for your child, arriving on time for school and class:

*Makes sure that your child doesn't miss out on the important learning activities that happen early in the day when they are most alert.

*Early morning learning activity is often reading or writing your child can lost so many opportunities to learn these critical life skills.

*Helps your child to learn about routines and commitment.

*Gives your child time to greet their friends before class and this can reduce the possibility of disruptions in the classroom.

*Class disruption can make your child feel uncomfortable and can upset other children.

*Arriving on time every day makes children feel good about themselves.

Community Serve- please volunteer!

Be part of a movement of local churches, school districts, PTSA’s, non-profits, and businesses that mobilize as one for our community. For one day we come together to help schools get ready for the new school year, preparing classrooms and school grounds to become a premier learning environment for our kids. Projects include helping teachers set up classrooms, as well as improving the campuses through painting, repairs, beautification, and more.

Parents- do you have a minute to thank a staff member?

Expressing gratitude can fill your cup and our staff member's cup. Positive connections between home and school foster mutual respect; in turn creating a rich learning environment. If you're interested in sharing a quick "thank you" with someone who is having a positive impact on your student, please email me at: anielsen@nsd.org with subject line: Gratitude for Staff

Bus Lane- please do not use

When dropping students off or picking students up, please do not use the bus lane. Our bus lane is used early in the morning until late into the evening for middle school runs. Please only use the parking lot or the parent-pick-up lot in the north end of our parking lot. We truly appreciate your cooperation with this.
