A little bit about me...

I graduated from Ashford with my MBA in July 2015 and work for in the Greater Chicago Area as an Area Manager.

I am a Veteran of the United States Army with nearly 16 years of dedicated service. I decided to leave to pursue my own hopes and dreams and it has been one of the best decisions of my professional life. I loved being a soldier, but I love being a civilian more!

For a pastime I teach Classical Japanese Swordsmanship and have found that the lessons we use for war aptly apply to the lessons we use for life. The two struggles are inseparable.

One of my other best decisions turned out to be the woman I married and she has become my biggest supporter. She lets me rant and ramble on about politics, community life, and anything else deserving of a rant while smiling all the while and nodding her head. She is such a treasure and a blessing.

Mentoring is one of the most misunderstood and least utilized parameters of relationships both personal and professional. The sharing of knowledge and experience, the wisdom to follow through and seek understanding is a two-way relationship. Nobody knows it all and never will. At times the line between mentor and mentee can even blur when wisdom is given the freedom to flow.

The Ashford CHAMPS program seemed like a great place to share what little wisdom I think I possess in order to gain more than possible on my own. Anything can be achieved, often in small steps, but achieved nonetheless. I look forward to sharing and learning with everyone I come into contact with.
