Kinder Newsletter
Week of May 10th, 2024
Hello Everyone!
I can not believe it, but next week is our last full week in kindergarten!! It's very bitter sweet. I am excited for the kiddos to continue to grow and head on to first grade but I am not ready to say goodbye yet. We had a fun learning about transportation, location, and maps, etc. and making our own "cardboard city" together. Next week students will learn how to write and illustrating their own books. They will pick a topic to write about and then create their own book. They are very excited for our last big project! Next, week we also be taking our last NWEA tests for the year. Kindergarten Graduation is next week as well on Friday, May 17th. It will be in the school gym at 1pm. It will last for about an hour which includes a small reception afterwards. Please RSVP to me with the number of people attending from your family via Class Dojo. This IS NOT the kindergarteners last day of school. They go to school till May 23rd like the rest of the school. The following week is the final week of school. This week is filled with lots of fun events. First is Field Day on Monday, May 20th and then the next scheduled event that week is the HASA family picnic on the last day of school on May 23rd. This is a fun event where families are invited to join us for a school wide picnic to celebrate the last day of school. This day is an early dismissal day with a 12:30 dismissal.
Let's make it a great week,
Miss Wharton
Illness Prevention
Please be sure your kiddos are washing their hands often, getting lots of sleep, eating healthy, taking vitamins, etc. to help fight off all the junk being spread. It's just that time of year to spread the "love." We have been doing our best to keep the classroom clean and make sure the kiddos are washing their hands often, etc. to help as much as we can here at school.
Snack time
Just a reminder that we have snack time daily and it is individual snacks in kindergarten. This means that each child is responsible for bringing their own snack from home each day. We do NOT do community snacks in kindergarten. For the next couple of weeks, I will have a snack available for any kiddo who forgets their snack but unfortunately, after that, I may not have any snack available for anyone if they forget their snack. If you have any questions or concerns or have any trouble providing snacks for your sweet little one please please let me know and we will get something figured out for you!
