Cystic Fibrosis (Student Council Fundraiser)

The Student Council is collecting monetary donations for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Last week a Student Council rep. came to visit our classroom to talk to us about Cystic Fibrosis. Learn more about how it is affecting two students (brothers) at Goodrich by watching the video below. Donations will be collected until May 13. A heartfelt thank you to all the families that have already graciously donated!

Collecting Paper Towel Rolls!

We are collecting paper towel rolls until Wednesday, May 11. If you have any at home, please send to school. Thanks!

Reminder: Field trip is on Friday, May 13!

The district adopted a new math resource. There are two components to the program: teaching materials and online student practice. Please see flyer in Friday Folders to learn more about the program and how to stay updated on your child's progress.

A special "thank you" to all the families that made me feel extra special this week for Teacher Appreciate Week. I appreciated all the flowers, cards, candy, books, and kind words!

Writing: Poetry Up Next!

This week the students wrote their final opinion writing piece to be assessed. Up next, our final writing unit for this school year, is poetry!

Math: What Time is It?

This week we learned about analog and digital clocks. Our main focus this week was telling time to the hour... 1:00, 2:00, 9:00... Today we started talking about "half past". Next week we will focus more on half past. Please have discussions with your child at home about "half past", especially on an analog clock.

2nd Step: Consequences

This week with Mrs. Ross we discussed consequences. They can be due to a sad choice or after making a great choice. We were reminded to keep in mind what consequences we experience due to the choices we make.
