Inside my Backpack
What to Pack for Survival
Necessities
- Food and Water
Packing non-perishable food for up to three days will be a great help. Also atleast one gallon per person, each day for up to three days will be good for drinking and sanitation.
Matches
Matches are a good tool to have to be able to start a fire. Fire will be able to keep you warm and cook fish that you may be able to catch. You want to keep the matches in a dry place and try not to use to many, since the box will eventually run out or purchase waterproof matches.
Knife
A good quality pocket knife can include several different tools. A knife can be used to cut sticks for a fire or even to protect yourself.
Shelter
Pack a tent or anything that can shelter you. This is also a great way to keep warm at night.
Water Purifaction Tablets
Depending on how long you are stranding for you may run out of clean, fresh water. You then will have to search for your own and bringing these tablets will make sure you have clean water.
Compact Mirror
It may seem silly to bring but, packing a small mirror would be a great help. Having a mirror with you is great way to signal planes that are flying by and get you rescued.
