Counselor Highlight - Ms. Tanya Johnson
Hello! I am Tanya Johnson. I am a proud product of Alief ISD where I graduated from Alief Hastings High School. After high school I moved to Nashville, TN where I obtained my Bachelor's in Psychology from the Illustrious Fisk University, home of the Jubilee Singers. After graduation I remained in Nashville where I began teaching with one of the local Head Start programs. I moved back to Texas shortly after Hurricane Rita and began working on my alternative certification. Once I received my certification I taught for 11 years between Alief ISD and Fort Bend ISD. I earned my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX in an effort to move into counseling.
I absolutely love what I do and building meaningful relationships with students and families is very important to me. I look forward to having a wonderful school year at William B. Travis High School, where it's a great day to be a Travis Tiger.
