Perinatal Intensive Training
A Pregnancy/Postpartum Training for Mental Health Providers
Do you have a passion for working with women and families?
Are you interested in creating systems change through micro-level practice? Does the idea of understanding and impacting mental health through the lifespan in your community sound intriguing?
THG is pleased to announce a 12 hour CEU intensive training for therapists interested in offering expertise in the specialty of perinatal psychotherapy.
Depression and anxiety affect nearly a quarter of all postpartum women nationally every year. These illnesses, called Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, impact rates of suicide, child abuse, and both short and long term outcomes of the well-being of mothers and their children, in turn affecting generations when not adequately addressed. As the nature and prevalence of maternal mental health issues nationally is more clearly understood, the need for qualified mental health therapists only increases.
This intensive one and a half day course offers counselors, psychotherapists, psychologists, and social workers a basic primer in symptoms and etiology, emphasizing concrete therapeutic interventions, case studies, and resources for further education and professional development. Attendees will receive a THG PPC certificate of completion and 12 CEUs. Space is limited to eight participants, allowing for in-depth exploration, discussion, case review, and post-course peer and clinical support. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. The Healing Group’s PPC training provides essential knowledge for the identification, screening, and treatment of perinatal anxiety and depression in the therapeutic setting and is the only of its kind in the western United States.
