Central Elementary Staff News----September 12--September 16
KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY!
Dear Staff,
A teacher sent this YouTube link to me and it is worth sharing. After watching, I think we do so many things right here at Central Elementary. Our students feel valued and respected by us. However, as our weeks become more stressful, it is such a great reminder to choose our attitude and that connections with students will go far in helping them reach their academic goals.
Have a great week!
Julie

Announcements and Reminders
- As we enter our 6th week of school, make sure PowerSchool is up to date. A student's grade should reflect accurately his or her performance in your class. I would say you need to have 5-6 grades or more at this point.
- If you were given a license for Raz Kids, Reading A-Z, Headsprout and/or MathSeeds, please make sure you are using these programs with your students. Also, let parents know these programs are available at home.
- On Monday, I am meeting with our special education assistants from 9:00-9:30, so please do not send students. Our goal is to keep everything running smoothly this week. Our new teacher, Nikki McClatchey begins on Monday, September 19th.
- PTO Mini-grants are due September 14th
- Continue to talk with boys about bathroom etiquette
- Academic Team Callout--Thank you Didi Harris
- Fire Escape Routes will be in your mailbox
- Observations--If you haven't signed up for a long evaluation by Wednesday, we will just schedule your time and day.

High School Spanish IV Class to visit on Friday, November 4. The students will teach a 30 minute lesson to grades 1 – 5. I appreciate your help and willingness to host my students. 9:00 – 9:30 – Central Visit
