Applications to Support Technology in Our Classrooms
Why Technology?
Our Apps!
Class Dojo
This fun app encourages positive classroom behavior by representing students with a funny monster character that earns or loses points throughout the day based on their actions. Class Dojo is customizable to the needs of the classroom and students. Behavior reports are easily created and shared with parents and other staff to create a consistent transition between classes and home life. Teachers can easily send messages home for parents to stay in the loop and monitor their child’s progress.
ScreenChomp
Symbaloo
Symbaloo is simple start page that allows you to store and share all of your favorite bookmarks and resources visually. This app can be seen as an online cork board for all your favorite bookmarks. Teachers are able to organize websites, Google Docs, videos, lesson plans, and more then share pages with students, parents, and other teachers to keep lessons and internet use on-topic, educational, and easy for everyone!
Where to Expect these Apps?
Class Dojo will be used starting in Pre-Kindergarten classrooms and used until third grade. Screen Chomp will be used oppositely, starting in the third grade when our students are assigned laptops, and used until the fifth grade. Lastly, Symbaloo will be an application used for every grade level at our school because it is user friendly for all ages and easy for teachers to create many different pages for different subjects that can be shared among grade levels, other teachers and staff, as well as parents.
We hope you see a boost of enthusiasm and mastery in technology from your child as we begin to foster 21st Century Skills in our classroom!
