ECLC Class News

Week of 12/7-12/11

What we did this week ...

This week our centers and books were about gingerbread. I read the stories The Gingerbread Men Loose in the School and The Gingerbread Men Loose on the Firetruck by Laura Murray. The students really enjoyed these books. We made a gingerbread man counting book and craft. The students ripped tissue paper, which is a good fine motor activity, and glued the tissue paper onto a gingerbread cutout.

Other things we did this week ....

In math, the students worked on counting, patterns, and pattern blocks.

In phonics, the students learned the letter, key word and sounds for the letters h, k and l. The key word for h is hat, kite for k, and lamp for the letter l.

When introducing a new letter, I use the website We learn a new letter, its sound, and learn some examples of words that start with that letter. The site link is listed below. It is a great website that your child can use at home.

The sight word this week was "see."

In Social Skills group, Miss Roe talked about on and off topic. She gave the students examples of conversations that what would be on topic or off topic.

REMINDER-ECLC does not meet on half days. There is no school for ECLC on 12/16, 12/18, 12/21, and 12/23. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.

Have a wonderful weekend.
