FSC Principal's Update
April 22, 2022
State testing has wrapped up besides some makeups for those who missed testing days. Now, we head into AP testing and all of our end of the year celebrations. I can't wait to enjoy all of these special moments/memories with this group. So many of them have really stepped up this year, matured, and taken care of business. I am proud and have told many that I look forward to shaking their hand at graduation. The list of senior events is below (the link). Please let me know if I missed anything!
It's not too late to write a note to a staff member. I know they love hearing about the impact they have on our kids. The link is below.
As always, if you have any questions, please reach out.
Staff Spotlight (Heather Howard)
Hello Finneytown. I am Heather Howard (formally Neher), which makes Kathy Neher in the attendance office my momma. My husband Ron and I are Finneytown graduates ℅ 2002. While at Finneytown I participated in volleyball and basketball, where I had the privilege of having our very own Carol Miller as my coach (I can still clearly hear her yelling “on the line”). After Finneytown I attended Indiana University, where I received my undergraduates in Kinesiology and Health Education. In 2013 I added more debt with masters from Mount St. Joseph in Educational Leadership.
Funny story, in 2007 I came back to Finneytown about two weeks before school started to apply for a building sub position. While at school I visited with some of my favorite teachers (Lynn Volz, Julie Ficke and Chuck Grosser). The next morning, after returning back to Bloomington (IU) I got a phone call from then Principal Jack Fisher. Apparently, the Health teacher quit the very same day I had visited. Luckily, my favorite teachers put in a good word and here I am today.
I am in my 15th year of teaching (Health & PE), the Dean of Kopke and the fundraising/dance coordinator. I love spending time with my family: Leo, a 1st grader at Brent, Jordyn is 4.5 in preschool, and Ron recently started his own audio visual company. I have begun my new career as my kid’s personal shuttle driver, as they begin their sporting careers. In my free time, I love to eat (thank you yelp) and cook, spend time with friends, and constantly listen to audio books. This summer Ron and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, and will be taking a second honeymoon to St, Lucia.
