Staff News at Prospect
Get ready to welcome Aaron Hisey to Prospect!
Aaron is in the midst of an exciting August that will see him graduating from SIU-Carbondale AND wrapping up his 2nd summer church internship with the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. Aaron is serving at Marion Aldersgate UMC this summer where his is working extensively as part of the congregation's strong youth ministry team. Last year, Aaron interned at Chillicothe First UMC where he helped launch new youth ministry. Aaron's family lives near Canton and he ha been a member of FUMC Peoria for several years, so he is quite familiar with the Peoria area.
After a few weeks of rest and recovery, we are looking to officially welcome Aaron to the Prospect staff on September 1st!
More staff news...
It was certainly a joy having Kirsten back with us in worship yesterday (August 4th)!
Kirsten's health continues to improve, and she is grateful for the cards, the help at her house, and the prayers of her church family. Many of you are like family to Kirsten, which is exactly what we'd hope for within a church community. After much prayerful/careful consideration, however, Kirsten has determined that, for health reasons, it is necessary for her to step down as our Director of Music/Worship. We hope to continue being blessed by Kristen's gifts of time and talent in the years ahead, but it simply won't be as a staff member of the congregation after August 31st.
Our Staff-Parish Relations Committee is already working to fill this important leadership position within the worship life of Prospect. Please keep our Staff-Parish Relations Committee members in your prayers (this team has already met more in the past 9 months than it had in the previous 2 years). Continue, also, to pray for Kirsten on her path towards complete healing and wholeness.
p.s.
Helen Lewis just got out of hip replacement surgery.
Gloria Callahan "got to" spend another night at Proctor as doctors work to bump up her sodium and potassium levels. She otherwise feels good after last Friday's surgery and she is anxious to go home.
Barb VanCleave has moved into the Rehab Floor at Proctor, and we hope she will be heading home soon, too!
Keep praying for these three wonderful ladies, along with all of those affected by this weekend's violence and those others listed in yesterday's prayer chain!
