From the Principal's Desk...
Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first Fine Arts Night at St. John’s. The students worked so hard to prepare and did an amazing job! A huge thank you goes out to Mrs. Ossenschmidt and Miss Pearce for putting the night together and preparing our young students over the last few months.
As we enter spring, I wanted to bring an issue to the parents that I have been seeing throughout our school. Over the last two months, we have had an increase in reports of students being intentionally unkind to one another in their words and actions. While I understand that not everyone in a grade will be best friends, the expectation is that students will act in a kind and respectful manner to everyone they encounter throughout the day. This includes while they are on our campus, when they are on the school bus, and when they are out in the community representing our school. Students need to understand that their words and actions can have a lasting impact on those around them. I would like to encourage parents to talk to their children about the importance of being kind. As a community, we need to teach students ways to build each other up and not tear others down. As a school, we will focus on this next year, but I would love the parent’s help to drive this point home to our students for the last 7 weeks of school.
I hope everyone has a great rest of your week.

Seeking Volunteers for 2022 School Spectacular
Do you love being a part of the St John’s family? Is a Catholic education a priority to you? Then here is your opportunity to play a role in the long-term financial viability of our school.
Planning for this year’s St John Spectacular, November 5, 2022, is beginning and we need your help. This event, that has raised over $200,000 in it’s first three years, is essential to the school’s budget. But we need your time and talent to make the event even more successful. We are reorganizing some of our committees to spread the work load and get more people involved and would love to have you. If you are new to the St John’s family, this will give you a chance to make many new friends.
Please review the list of our committees and see what best fits your interest and talent:

Introducing Our Soon to Be...
Athletic Boosters
Boosters Looking for New Members
Our next monthly athletic boosters meeting will be April 6th at 8 pm. We will meet in the meeting room above the barn or outside at the picnic tables, weather pending. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month. Our meetings usually focus on sports that are currently active along with sports that are upcoming. We also discuss any improvement projects to the athletic complex and purchase of equipment needs. This month we will also be taking nominations for 2 board positions (Secretary and Trustee) that are due up in June. Anyone is welcome to attend and we encourage your participation.
The athletic Boosters are responsible for the planning, coordinating and execution of all of the athletic programs within our community. This includes Boys and Girls Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls Golf, Boys and Girls Basketball, Softball, and Baseball. We also offer instructional sports for kids ages 4+ in soccer, basketball, and T-ball. We also host an annual golf outing in early October. Our organization is completely volunteer based and the quality of our programs is directly related to the effort put forth by our volunteers.
I have been an active member of the athletic Boosters for 10+ years and it has been some of the most rewarding years of my life. Being an active member has allowed me to meet many of the families within our community. It has also given me an opportunity to be directly involved with my children and their athletic activities. It has given me chance to help shape and develop youth sports. I have also been fortunate to work with a great group of dedicated board members and coordinators who do countless work behind the scenes to make our programs a success.
The athletic boosters is a great way to get involved, meet new people, and have a direct impact on the lives of the youth participating in athletics at St. John. We are always looking for new members and new ideas to help lead us for the years ahead.
Regards,
Brock Wilt
