**Weekly Update** 04/2/21 Vol. 32
** SPRING BREAK EDITION ** SPRING BREAK EDITION **
Hola Jaguar Families!
We have just finished a 4 day week full of celebration, honor, and recognition in our school community. Let us recap for those of you who may want to review the highlights:
#STOP ASIAN HATE- We wholeheartedly stand unified with our Asian community here in RCLA and we do not tolerate any form of racial discrimination at our school! There is no such thing as a funny joke or comment that stereotypes a certain race or ethnicity at our school. If you see or hear it, REPORT IT.
Cesar Chavez- a Latino hero for our community and a hero for mankind. We are honored and grateful for the service and leadership that he embodied. His level of humility was the ultimate example of character and grace. He will always be remembered for his dedication and representation of the powerless. We salute Cesar Chavez at RCLA... VIVA LA HUELGA!
Women’s History Month- At RCLA women empower other women and we are proud to have the leadership on our staff. Within our RCLA community, this begins with the women in our front office, our counselor, and in our classrooms! They are role models who are of service to our students, families, and the greater community. We appreciate and respect the work that they do and the wisdom and intelligence that they display.
This week I also wanted to spotlight our Ethnic Studies and Maestro Instructor, Mr. Osvaldo Ruelas. He has been the foundation and veteran teacher for 7 years at RCLA while being a leader both inside and outside the classroom. Mr. Ruelas has been a model example of what an education can provide for you in life. He has been dedicated to the students and families here at RCLA and students look up to him for guidance and support. We are truly grateful to have him on our staff and the wisdom that he is able to provide to our students. On a side note, he is one of the most loyal Raiders Fans that you will ever meet!
Jaguars Parents- please note that we have no school next week as we will be on Spring Break beginning April 5th- 9th. It is a perfect opportunity for our students to review and work on their assignments that may be outstanding. Please check in with your Jaguar and make sure that we finish Semester 2 strong! I wish you all a safe Spring Break and look forward to seeing you on April 12th.
