End-of-the-Year Literacy Notes
- Book Room: Please continue to return ALL book room books to the plastic bin on the floor in the Think Tank. (Do not put them on the shelves.) I am in the process of inventorying all the books and setting up an easier check-out system for next year.
- BAS Scores: On Monday, June 17th, I will verify all students' BAS scores on X2. Please let me know if there are any students whose scores will not be entered by Monday June 17th.
- Thank You: Thank you all for a fabulous first year at Dunning. I have enjoyed getting to know all of you through our work together. I hope you all have a relaxing summer and come back ready to do it all again! I'm looking forward to more learning and growing --- after a nice, long summer!
end-of-the-Year Math Notes
- Think Tank: Please return ALL borrowed math materials to the think tank including manipulatives, books, and Number Worlds materials.
- Module Assessment Scores: Please be sure to enter all of your end of module assessment scores onto your grade level spreadsheet. If you notice any errors in total score or coloration, send Lauren an email.
- Reimagining the Math Classroom: Grades 2 & 3 ONLY - If you still have your copy of the book please return to the think tank.
- Thank You: Thank you for a tremendous first year at Dunning. I am so happy to be a part of the Dunning community and look forward to continuing to learn and grow with you all. Enjoy your summer break!!
student behaviors
If you are having repeated behaviors with students, please make sure to inform parents.
Framingham Public Library Visit
It is that time of year! Lucy Loveridge from the Framingham Public library will be visiting us on Tuesday, June 11th. Lucy will give grades 1-4 an overview of the summer programs available and talk about summer reading. Each grade will get a 30 minute presentation. Please understand that the timing is tight so please be aware of your transition times!
Karen has tried to work around all specials, events and trips. Please let her know if you have any questions or concerns.
spring ASSESSMENT WINDOW
Grades K-5
Literacy Assessments: 5/13-6/14
iReady: 5/28-6/7
Canvas: If you’re not sure which assessments are done in each grade, please see the Assessment Matrix on Canvas. If you need help accessing this, tell Brett.
X2:
Please enter all your data on X2. For the BAS:
For every student you tested, please put their instructional BAS score in X2.
If you happen to also find a student’s independent score, please enter that in X2 as well.
If a student moves from independent to hard (e.g. Level C is independent but Level D is hard), please put the independent level, accuracy, and comprehension score in both the independent and instructional columns.
Ceiling for BAS testing: District direction for the rest of this year is "do not go beyond the end-of-year level for the next grade level.” For Example: In grade 1, you should not exceed level "M" (last level in Grade 2). If you have any question, please ask Brett.

CARE & SHARE
Please remind your students to bring in items for Care & Share. Our monthly food collection makes a huge difference in our community, while teaching our students the importance of giving. As an added incentive, the class that brings in the most each month will earn 15 minutes of extra recess on the new playground!
- June: Cans of Tuna Fish
