Wonderful Falcon Families,
"Gratitude and attitude are not challenges; they are choices." ~Robert Braathe
I hope that your Thanksgiving break was filled with gratitude and that your family created wonderful and unforgettable memories that brought much joy. For December, I would like to challenge you to have each family member to share one thing you chose to be grateful for each day. Have each member write it down and keep a gratitude jar where you each place daily notes of gratitude. At the end of the month, your family can look back and see all the blessing you received or experienced.
GRATITUDE NOMINATIONS FOR STAFF
Falcons, you have the opportunity to honor a staff member or more by completing a gratitude nomination form. Click on this LINK to access the form. If you are nominating one staff member, you only need to complete the form once. However, if you want to recognize more than one, you will need to complete the form by the number of staff members you wish to recognize. You also have to use your district gmail/Google account NOT your personal one. We will close this form on December 9. Our goal is to have all staff members recognized.
END-OF-COURSE EXAMS INFORMATION
It is only two weeks away from end-of-course exams or finals, which will be given on December 13 (Periods 1 & 2), 14 (Periods 3 & 4) & 15 (Periods 5 & 6). These dates are all minimum days with a release time of 12:50pm. Please continue to encourage your children to work hard, catch up on any missing assignments and talk to their teachers if they are not passing at this time. If your children are in danger of failing a class at this time, you should have received a written report(s) from the teacher of the class(es).

Follow Traffic Safety in Front of School at All Times
Parents, it is important that we are all considerate of each other as we drop off our children. As you know, one of our students was recently hit by a car and we were fortunate that the student was not seriously injured. Let's remember that all foot traffic have the right of way and we should slow down and/or stop when we see people who appear to cross the street. Additionally, it is imperative that if your children bike to school or ride a skateboard, they need to be wearing helmets at all times during transit. Finally, the bus lane is off limits for drop off. By law, the lane has to be kept clear of non-bus vehicles. Thank you for respecting each other in this manner.
Improper Use of Social Media Using School Logos and Names
Parents, as we prepare to go back to school, it is imperative that you and your child(ren) have a fresh conversation about how to use their mobile devices and social media accounts responsibly. Over the break, it was brought to my attention that a couple of accounts have been created using names and logos belonging to HTM, and in it, students are using it to bully, berate and be mean to each other. This is not acceptable at all. School logos may not be used by anyone other than the school and district. This week, I will inform my APs about the creation of these accounts and we will start to investigate. Students, if you have joined these accounts and have contributed to cyberbullying as revealed by our investigation, you will receive the appropriate consequences for cyberbullying. I would suggest that you remove yourselves from these accounts. Parents, here are the accounts I have found; however, the bolded account is where many of the cyberbullying is occurring. I need your help in ensuring that our students are safe by having conversations with your children and regularly checking their phones for appropriate use.
