HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 2 - 11 May
FROM MARK:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The lovely Mothers Day Breakfast put on today by our Holy Rosary Community (HRC) was so well attended, and it was great to see many of you able to stay for mass afterwards. Father Peter’s welcome and homily were really well-received. Likewise the lovely singing led by our choir and Michelle Kirwan. The reflection prepared by Dave Edwards was just awesome. A beautiful morning, with thanks to everyone who contributed to make it so. Happy Mothers Day for Sunday!
We were also involved in the Interschool Swimming Carnival today, and congratulate every single child who represented us. They swam so well, and behaved so well. Thanks to Rob Flexman who was so organised for this event, to Mat Lovelock so generously coached the children and prepared them for today, and to the parents who were able to support Rob on the day.
Tuesday evening sees the HRC hosted presentation focused on raising the resilient child. Our HRC are all parent volunteers, who work hard to support parents, so do take advantage of the opportunities they offer.
Pre-Primary Catherine are on deck on Friday. Their assembly commences at 8.55am in the undercover area. Come along and join in the fun!
Several interviews have taken place this week for four Year old Kindy for both 2019 and 2020, with more interviews scheduled for the next two weeks. As always we would love to have a full contingent so if you know of people who might be interested, please encourage them to check out our website, or to call or swing by our office.
Have a great weekend.

ZULUDESK FOR PARENTS
Dear Parents,
Over the past year or so we have received some interest from parents in having some technical control over their child’s iPad use. ZuluDesk, the new ‘Mobile Device System’ we use for managing the iPads at Holy Rosary has a parent option that allows parents to set restrictions on the school iPad for the apps and functions the students can use outside of school hours. We are looking at implementing this for parents from Yr 3-6, however, we would appreciate some parents to trial this software before we make it available to all parents, so if you are willing to volunteer please fill in the Google Form below.
Before you sign up, there is a short video for you to preview that explains how the App works if you wish to have a look. https://vimeo.com/212094116
After the trial period, we will also ask you to provide us with some feedback on your experience.

Rugby WA is excited to announce a new initiative, Rugby Roos.
Rugby Roos has been designed to encourage children between the ages of 5-12 to play rugby union, and is used as a stepping stone/trial for club rugby.
The five week program can be either contact or non-contact, so it gives the child the option for what they feel comfortable with. As well as learning the basics of rugby, the child will also learn life skills such as respect and teamwork.
Wests Scarborough Rugby Club will be holding Rugby Roos starting on Tuesday 15th May at 5pm. Here is the link to the website https://www.rugbyroos.com/
