Texas Roadhouse

Tuesday February 9th Seckman Middle School is hosting a night at Texas Roadhouse in Arnold. If you present the flier when making a food purchase at Texas Roadhouse they will donate 10% back to Seckman Middle School. Once the flier is delivered, we will attached it to an email, or feel free to stop in the office to pick one up. The fliers cannot be handed out on the Texas Roadhouse property and must be presented in order for SMS to receive the 10%.

Pennies for Patients

Each year Seckman Middle School participates in the Pennies for Patients campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This year we have set up our own funding page which can be accessed by the below link. We also have several activities planned to help raise money during this campaign. Please see the list of events below.


2/5 Put a Cap on Cancer - pay $1 to wear a cap to school

2/19 Dreaming for a Cure - pay $1 to wear PJ's to school

2/26 - Team up to Fight Cancer - pay $1 to wear your favorite team cap or jersey

3/4 - Camo for the Cure - pay $1 to wear camo to school

3/11 - IPOD Day - pay $1 to listen to IPOD during the school day

3/18 - Take the PLUNGE for Cancer - $1 to dunk principals in a dunking tank (if one is available)

Every Friday will also be "Pelt the Principal". If you want to shoot marshmallows at the principals during lunch this will cost you .50 to take a shot.

We will also have an ongoing "Guess how many M & M's" are in a jar for .25 a guess and the winner gets the jar of M & M's.

All great ways to get involved and help us raise our goal of $2,000.00 to help find a cure!

Donut Day

Donut Day is Friday, February 12th. Pre-Order forms will come home on February 1st and will need to be turned into the office by February 8th. Donuts are $1 each. The advisory that buys the most donuts gets a pizza party on 2/19.

Calling All 8th Graders!!!!!

Mrs. Cottrell is taking digital copies of photos of 8th graders when they were young preferably ages 1 to 4 to be presented on a slideshow at the 8th grade formal. You can only submit two pictures per student. She can also take original copies to scan. The first 20 will be in the yearbook unless you request otherwise. All pictures are due by February 22nd.

Character Council Valentine Balloons and Smoothies

Character Council will be selling Valentine’s day balloons through Wednesday February 10th. There will be 3 different designs to choose from. They will be $1.00 each. You will have the option to write a note to go with the balloon. They will be selling them in the mornings and will be delivered during 1st hour on February 12th.

Character Council will also be selling smoothies on Friday, February 5th for $3.00. If you would like to purchase one, you will receive an order form in your advisory. They will be collecting the forms in the morning outside of the gym until February 2nd.

First Jr. Jaguar Idol

SMS was proud to crown the first ever Jr. Jaguar Idol on Tuesday, January 26th. There were 8 contestants who were all very talented and shared their love for music by singing many different types of music from broadway songs to current rock and pop songs. Three guest judges scored all 8 contestants narrowing it down to the top 3 then the audience voted for their choice and 8th grader Julia Terry was the winner. It was amazing to witness first hand the talent of all of these students - well done by the SMS music department.

Intramurals and Spirit Week

Volleyball Intramurals are Thursday, February 11th at Fox High School. We will have a Spirit Week to support our volleyball teams as they compete for the Volleyball Girls' and Boys' Banners.

Monday - 2/8 - Mix/Match Day

Tuesday - 2/9 - St. Louis Blues

Wednesday - 2/10 - Color War (advisory dresses with the color they have been assigned)

Thursday - 2/11 - Black Out Day

Friday - 2/12 - Blue and Gold Day
