A Look At This Week & Next Week...
Gratitude
This week our students continue their investigation about the the character strength of Gratitude!
What is gratitude?
Gratitude is the quality of feeling and expressing thankfulness and appreciation. It is an affirmation that there is goodness in other people and the world, and that we have received that goodness. People with the strength of gratitude have a readiness to show appreciation for kindness and also to return kindness. A leading expert, Robert Emmons, calls gratitude a “relationship strengthening emotion because it requires us to see how we’ve been supported and affirmed by other people.”
The parent virtue for bravery is transcendence. These strengths allow people to rise above their troubles and find meaning in the larger universe. Strengths of transcendence are appreciation of beauty and excellence, connection/purpose, gratitude, hope/optimism, and humor.
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” — William Arthur Ward

We know that carpool will be a little slower as we welcome back more students on Monday.
Please help us by doing the following:
- Move car seats to the drivers side of the vehicle so that students may exit from the passenger side
- Have students prepared to exit the vehicle
- Pull forward to an empty parking space to assist your child with a harness or seatbelt
- Stay in your car

Un vistazo a la próxima semana ...
Gratitud
