Welcoming the Assistant Principal at Stonehedge Elementary School!

On June 2, 2021 Deborah Ratcliff was appointed by the Board of Education as the new Assistant Principal at Stonehedge Elementary School with an official start date to be determined.


Ratcliff is currently the Director of PTECH in the Auburn Enlarged City School District, and where the previous two years she was the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development. This followed her administrative start as an Assistant Principal/Administrative Intern at Genesee Elementary School within that school district. Her extended school year work in K-12 Special Education and Math Instructional Coach were part of service to the Liverpool CSD where she had been a Grade-6 classroom teacher for 17 years.

WGHS will Graduate Twenty-Four CTE Students

West Genesee High School is graduating 24 students this year from Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, where the instruction is delivered completely within the District.


These students have to satisfy requirements of the New York State Education Department as follows: complete five units of course work in an approved career area, complete 15 hours of job shadowing, prepare a portfolio of samples of work from the courses in the strand, and pass a nationally recognized certification exam.


These 24 students have completed their coursework in one of three strands taught at the high school, i.e., Business Administration, Computer Technology, and Engineering Technology.

Kindergarten Screening Information

If you have registered your student for kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year, you should have received a letter (or will receive it soon) to remind you of your screening date and time. All kindergarten screening will be done this year at your home school. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Registrar's office at 315-487-4683.


Beginning on Thursday, June 28 through August 31, summer office hours for the Registrar's office will be from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (The Central Registration Office will be closed on July 3.)


When scheduling an appointment to register a student, you will be able to do so on our website with times available from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Click here for more information.

Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2021 is at the NYS State Fairgrounds this Year!

Graduation is the highlight of the entire school year. The Class of 2021 has achieved amazing accomplishments in all areas including academics, athletics, and visual/performing arts. Graduation will be held at the NYS Fairgrounds in the Center of Progress Building on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m.

West Genesee PTA/PTO District Council is Again Sponsoring School Supply Drive

For 12 years, West Genesee PTA/PTO District Council has been collecting and providing school supplies to students in need. This year, to collect only the supplies in need, each school has been asked to donate one type of supply. Click here for the listing of supply requested per school. Please bring your donations into school through June 11.

The Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board (CNY RPDB) has partnered with its member counties (Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego) to identify where our neighbors lack reliable access to broadband internet. And they are looking to you to make a difference.


To help your community all you must do is complete a quick and confidential survey about internet access and affordability at: https://www.cnyinternet.com/onondaga-county-home. You can take the survey from any computer or mobile device with internet access.
