A Note from The Principal
October is a busy month for teachers and students at Adams. We have two convocations scheduled. The first one features the Pacers’ mascot Boomer. He will share with us an anti-bullying message. The second convocation will be a school gathering at which we will celebrate our school family. This will NOT be a recognition of grades, attendance, etc., but rather a focus on our whole school family as we work together to reach collective goals.
Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for Oct. 10th and 11th. There may also be conferences throughout the week. If you have not yet scheduled a time with your child’s teacher please do that ASAP. You may also schedule conferences by visiting https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Adams_Elementary We are in the process of finalizing schedules. We look forward to seeing you!
If you visit your child to eat lunch at school and are in the LGI room, please closely supervise the children while you are eating. There have been several instances during which students have been running around the room and playing with materials that belong to the YMCA and are not Adams’ belongings. Thank you for helping us keep all children safe.
If your family is scheduling a vacation, please try to work around our school schedule. When students are not at school for any reason they are behind when they return, and that gap is intensified when students miss several days in a row.
Thank you for faithfully signing your child’s reading log. The whole Adams family is working toward a Million Minute school reading goal, and every minute helps!
Thank you to everyone who drops off and/or picks up students each day. The new traffic pattern has dramatically reduced problems on Stop 11 and provides a much safer condition for cars and buses. Thank you to all car drivers for yielding to the school buses as they leave the school parking lot each morning and afternoon.

From The Counselor
- Tardies and Leaving early equal missed learning
- It can interrupt other students learning
- Can impact the child's behavior, self-esteem, and school success
- Disrupts morning and afternoon routine
- Affects important time for building classroom community & socialization
- Some children may miss interventions or special services that are scheduled
If your student is truly sick, he should stay home. Absences must be called into the front office or the attendance line even if you have already notified the teacher. Missing school for any reason other than illness can become a bad habit. Studies show that kids who have poor attendance in the elementary years are much more likely to have difficulties with their future education.
If you have any questions or concerns about your student's attendance. please feel free to reach out to me.

Fun Run November 2nd
Parents! One of this year’s main fundraisers is the Fun Run! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on October 23rd. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run November 2nd. With our big goal of raising $10,000 , we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it easier, more profitable, and more fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK MYSTERY LAB! Boosterthon’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to solve mysteries, our students will learn five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
All your donations will go right back into our school and to the entire two-week experience. So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!
Thank you from the PTS!
