August 27, 2023 - Week Two
A Note From the Office
Concord Families,
As we reflect on the end of this incredible week, guiding our students through routines, forging meaningful connections, and embarking on new learning journeys together, the whimsical world of Calvin and Hobbes comes to mind. In the same spirit of their delightful adventures, we too have begun an adventure of our own – one brimming with curiosity, laughter, and growth.
Just like Calvin and his trusty tiger companion Hobbes, we're setting out on a journey of imaginative exploration and learning. Our classrooms have transformed into spaces where each student's unique personality and potential can flourish, much like Calvin's vibrant imagination as he conjures up fantastical worlds. The relationships we're nurturing are as strong as Calvin's bond with Hobbes – offering unwavering support, encouragement, and a dash of playfulness.
In our roles as educators, we wear many hats – much like Calvin and his array of alter egos! Whether we're the scientific explorer, the philosophical thinker, the artistic creator, or the problem-solving inventor, we bring our diverse skills and passions to the classroom. Just as Hobbes serves as Calvin's confidant and partner in adventure, we stand alongside our students, guiding them through challenges and celebrating their triumphs.
So here's to a year that captures the essence of Calvin and Hobbes in our educational journey. Let's approach each day with the same enthusiasm that Calvin brings to his imaginative escapades. Let's encourage our students to ask questions, seek answers, and find joy in the process of learning, mirroring Calvin's delight in every new adventure.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's educational voyage. Together, as a united team of parents and educators, we'll continue to inspire, nurture, and guide these young minds toward a future as bright and boundless as the world Calvin and Hobbes discovered together.
With heartfelt excitement and appreciation,
Brian and Liz

Lindbergh Speaker Series: "Navigating Infinite Campus"
6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30
Our first Speaker Series of the school year is designed to help families navigate Lindbergh’s new Student Information System, Infinite Campus. Learn how to use the most common features on your desktop computer or mobile device, and find answers to your questions from Lindbergh staff.
New Badge System Supports School Safety
Beginning this year, Lindbergh Schools is using the CrisisAlert School Safety Solution by Centegix to empower staff and keep students safe during the school day.
Here’s how it works: All employees wear a badge with a one-button system that can be used to call for help in the event of day-to-day emergencies. In the event of a school intruder, it goes one step further and allows any staff member to activate a lockdown response schoolwide. The system determines the location of the alert, down to an individual room and floor, so first responders and administrators know exactly where help is needed.
Learn more: Dr. Lake recently explained the technology to KMOV reporter Caroline Hecker. You can watch that interview at timestamp 2:13 by clicking the link below, or read more on our district website.
Make Sure You’re Receiving Our Text Messages
From time to time, our school and the Lindbergh district use SMS messaging to share information and updates with families. These messages will always come from one of two short codes, including 54968 and 60680. Families must have a current mobile phone number on file in the Infinite Campus portal in order to receive text messages from Lindbergh Schools.
