Dear Families
P & F Pasta Day & Family Breakfast
Thank you to our wonderful P & F for the successful Pasta Day today, there were over 350 orders from the students. We are extremely blessed to have such a hard-working P & F team. A special thank you to the Harvey Italian Club and Frank Panuccio (Nonno of Gabriella & Leo), who provided the equipment to cook the pasta and the sauce.
The P & F are now planning for the Family Breakfast that will be held on Friday 2nd September from 7.30am. Details and the order form for the day are below.
Feast of Mary MacKillop
Our students will celebrate MacKillop Day on Monday. could all Year 1 to 6 MacKillop students please wear their house shirt on Monday. We will celebrate the Feast of Mary MacKillop on Wednesday by leading the 9am Mass at church, all are welcome to attend.
Year 3 & Year 5 BRLA
Well done to our Year 3 and 5 students who sat the Bishops' Literacy Assessment this week. The purpose of the BRLA is to measure student learning of the content in the RE curriculum.
The BRLA provides a ‘point in time’ snapshot of student performance in RE. Students’ knowledge and understanding of the content of the RE curriculum are assessed using a combination of multiple choice, short and extended test items. Students’ faith is not assessed. The use of the BRLA complements the school-based assessment programs in RE. The results of the BRLA will come home later this year.
Paul Litherland
Thank you to the over 60 parents and staff that came to the Paul Litherland presentation on Wednesday night. The turnout was amazing and a reflection of the interest and care the community has for the online safety of our students.
We just wanted to say thank you for putting on the surf online safe seminar last night for parents of the school! Paul was very knowledgeable, informative and interesting to listen to. We found the session really helpful. Also, good to hear he spoke to the older students. Such a great initiative by the school leadership team!!
Drive Through
No adult should be exiting their vehicle during drive through. If your child needs help in or out of the car, please park and help them out.
Respecting Agreed Start and Finish Times
A gentle reminder that supervision starts at 8.20am, so no child should be dropped off before that time. This is also the case at the end of the school day, supervision concludes at 3.20pm, all children should be picked up by that time. Thank you for your cooperation.
Confirmation Parent/Child Workshops and Masses
Confirmation workshops will be held on Wednesday the 10th August at 4pm and 5.30pm, and on Thursday 11th August at 4pm. A note was sent to Year 6 families early this week, detailing how to book a workshop and a Confirmation Mass in September.

Congratulations to our Christian Dance students who performed on Tuesday at Mercy College, in the Chapel of St Brigid, Koondoola. Well done to all the students who performed and thank you to Miss Kelsey Fallo who prepared the students for the performance and Mrs Maria Harvey for helping on the day.

Parenting Article
This week under the Parent Reading heading, we have included an Insights article titled, 'What to do when life feels overwhelming'. Written by the inspirational Turia Pitt, she is saying it is okay if you feel tired, overwhelmed, sad or angry. COVID
COVID-19 SYMPTOMS POST INITIAL POSITIVE RESULT
When an individual receives a COVID-19 positive result, the individual is deemed by WA Health unlikely to suffer from re-infection for a period of 4 weeks. Therefore, further Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) testing when subsequently unwell is not required during this time, as a COVID-19 positive result may be returned throughout this period while the initial virus is being shed.
However, where a person is unwell within their 4-week period and are showing symptoms of COVID-19, WA Health reiterate that the impacted person should remain home until symptoms subside, particularly where symptoms are respiratory in nature (e.g. productive cough).
All unwell COVID-19 symptomatic students should remain home and refrain from coming to school.

Leaving early

Safeguarding Aim
The Safeguarding Program aims to raise awareness of our collective responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults within the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth. The program is based on a fundamental belief that all children and vulnerable adults have the right to physical and psychological safety at all times. We aim to prevent harm within parishes and agencies by building a culture that promotes safeguarding, putting the needs and welfare of children and vulnerable adults first. We aim to ensure our church workers are informed and willing to commit to safeguarding our children and vulnerable adults. We aim to provide policy and practice to create a safe environment and where there is an avenue of responding appropriately to any concerns, complaints, or allegations of harm. http://safeguarding.perthcatholic.org.au/
