Welcome to Cape Fear River fishing with Capt. Mike Dennis, this river holds a number of different fish from striped bass, which are caught trolling and casting in the upper Cape Fear towards downtown Wilmington. Speckled trout and redfish which are caught along the spoil islands through out the Cape Fear River along with black drum along the rocky areas in the Cape Fear. Flounder fishing around the power line structures always seems to produce a few fish with the larger fish coming from points along the islands in the Cape Fear River. Fishing around the Archer – Daniels Pfizer docks has produced a North Carolina state record Black Drum 100.1 pounds caught by Charles R. Dycus. The rock wall running south of Fort Fisher on the east bank of the Cape Fear River is a popular spot for trout, and flounder fishing, come visit the Cape Fear
