Meet Your Presenters:

Marcella Andre-Georges - Seeds of Evolution

I believe in the strength of women. I believe that soul searching, often and thoroughly is necessary. I believe that when women come together they are able to replenish sometimes fading strength, they are able to see the beauty in themselves that sometimes they have forgotten, they are able to reveal, own and accept truths that they have denied.

For the last few years I have been evolving. I know in my heart that while I have quite successfully used my voice to promote other businesses and events, I am now meant to use my voice to teach, to inspire, to motivate, and to be a catalyst for women's transformation. Consider me as the Caribbean Women's EMERGEnce Catalyst! I cannot create change in you or your circumstances, I cannot reveal your deficiencies and your dysfunction, I cannot reveal to you your undeniable beauty. What I can do is create the opportunity, the ambience, and the tools to help you do those things for yourself. Join me for the second in a four part retreat series. Two months ago, 20 women experienced REJUVENATE your Essence. It was the beginning of their EMERGEnce into a different mindset. On November 8th, we will be planting the seeds of evolution at this second retreat "Evolve your Mindset".

Karima "KAramel" McKenzie -Thomas - Get Clear!

KArima was one of the first women to be featured on the EMERGE Caribbean Women page. Her work in the world is about bringing people to Powerful CLARITY. She guides people to their truth and then helps them create the tools to LIVE that truth. We are so happy to reveal that she will be here in Antigua just to speak to YOU at our next retreat. Don't you want to be clear about where your EDGE is? What life exists for you just beyond the EDGE?

Heather Doram - Art Therapy

Heather Doram is EVERY WOMAN! She has been there and done that. She believes in the power of community and the impact of sharing her own story as a form of inspiration and motivation for other women. She embodies Art and Creativity. We are so honoured that she joins us on this journey to present Art Therapy. Art Therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a persons physical, mental and emotional well-being. The creative processes will assist you to express yourself artistically and develop and manage your behaviours and feelings, reduce stress, improve self esteem and awareness and may also alleviate and resolve health issues. In your journal you will express yourself visually, verbally ad literally through the exploration of materials and techniques.

Sally Davis - Managing Personal Change - Appreciating YOU!

Sally Davis is in essence a soulful, passionate and spiritual woman who loves being creative either through expression of words, drawing pieces of art, or using a camera to capture nature, people and life as it unfolds around her. She has become a woman who believes that you are as young as you feel mentally and physically and believes love and the love of life are important to her very existence. She has spent a major part of her life in Banking yet as a committed mother to her three children she has a strong passion for helping to shape the minds of youth who may need guidance in these ever challenging times. She also believes that women need to truly embrace their self worth, acknowledge the very essence of who they are and the ever important roles they play in our society with a willingness to truly love themselves and accept themselves in every way flaws and all. She believes they are all butterflies waiting to EMERGE!!

Joanne Hillhouse - Healing Words

People are creative in different ways – cooking to song – for me it’s writing; but the thing all creativity has in common is that it gives a voice to the person creating the work. The thing created becomes like this double sided mirror through which people think they’re getting a sense of the creator’s world view, and perhaps they are to some degree, but they’re also seeing someone searching, try to figure out the world they’re in. The answers for the people on both sides of this mirror are not always conclusive, but sometimes there is catharsis. For me writing is how I engage with, interpret, reflect, try to make sense of, and cope with my world. This quote from celebrated Antiguan writer Jamaica Kincaid says it best, "writing is really such an expression of personal growth…for me it is a matter of saving my life. I don't know what I would do if I didn't write. It is a matter of living in the deepest way." Usually when I lead writing workshops the emphasis is on crafting, trying to make the work better; this process will be a bit messier because it will hopefully be about searching and perhaps finding, catharsis.
