Books Challenged or Banned

Why celebrate Banned Books Week? September 27-October 3

"Banned Books Week 2015 is celebrating more than thirty years of the freedom to read. This freedom, not only to choose what we read, but also to select from a full array of possibilities, is firmly rooted in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Would-be censors continue to threaten the freedom to read from all quarters and political persuasions. "-- Robert P. Doyle, American Library Association

**If you would like a librarian to join you and your class for a bell-ringer to "talk" banned/challenged books with your students, please let us know.
