Dear Parents and Caregivers
Please read the information in this newsletter carefully. You will note there is a separate organisation for Year 7 students and Year 8 students.
Please ensure your child knows the name of their Area and their homegroup number. Our school map shows the location of the Areas.
First Day - Wednesday, 2 February
Due to the COVID restrictions, the following organisation is in place.
Year 7 Students
Year 7 students will be welcomed with a short Area specific pōwhiri on the Horopito courts, located adjacent to the main staff car park on Butley Drive.
Students must arrive at school 15 minutes prior to their Area pōwhiri. Upon arrival, students and parents will be ushered down the driveway in front of our gym where they will wait for their pōwhiri with their Area whānau leader.
We have seating along the Horopito court where you can observe your child’s pōwhiri if you wish. However, for the safety of everyone it is important that you:
Only stay for your child’s pōwhiri
Leave at the conclusion of your child’s pōwhiri to avoid congestion with the next group
Use the COVID-19 tracer app displayed
Wear a face mask
Practice physical distancing
Park away from the school to limit congestion.
8:30 - Tōtara
8:45 - Pōhutukawa
9:00 - Kōwhai
9:15 - Mānuka
9:30 - Horopito
At the conclusion of the pōwhiri students will be taken to their Area by their whānau leader.
Year 8 Students
Year 8 students will proceed directly to their Areas by 8:15am where they will be met by their teachers.
Uniform and Stationery
Students may wear their PE gear to school for the next few weeks to limit congestion in changing rooms. Please ensure all items of uniform and stationery are clearly named. Students should not bring their digital device to school until instructed to by their teacher.
If you have any questions regarding the start of the year please contact our Deputy Principals:
