"If done right technology will become invisible in the classroom, as it will be the standard tool for learning content and communicating what the student has learned"
--Schrum, Galizio, Ledesma, 2011
It's been a great start to the 2015-16 school year. The new laptops are being used in every classroom to support existing instruction. Although it has been a rocky start (because of system functionality), we have no doubt these little bumps will fade from our memories as technology becomes the new standard in our classrooms. As you begin to experience success with technology, we want to hear your stories.
We had a great turn out at the LAN School training this past week. One of the most practical features is the ability to push out websites or documents to all of your students at the same time. This will reduce the amount of time it takes for all of your students to get to the correct page.
This Wednesday, Ms. Sokowski will provide some training for the SMART Notebook 15 software. This is the software that allows your SMART board to be smart. I know everyone is busy, but understanding this software gives your students many more opportunities for interactive learning. Click here to preview some of the new features.
In non-digital news...
TIF STEM purchased each campus several sets of the Marzano Essentials for Achieving Rigor books. Each book breaks down one of the Super 7 elements into digestible bites, easy to understand and apply to the classroom. Click here to see samples the books. If you are interested in reading one or more of the books, they can be borrowed from Mrs. Williams (Main Campus) or Mr. Burley (Freshman Campus).

Professional Development: SMART Notebook/LanSchool
You will need SMART Notebook 15 software installed on your laptop. The software was pushed out during one of the updates. If you don't think you have it, submit a tech request.
**Unfortunately, we can not offer this training after school. Special arrangements can be made for those teachers who do not have a planning period. See Ms. Sokowski for additional information.
