JAGUAR UPDATE

Sunset Valley Elementary 4/20/2018

Jaguar Corner

Hello Jaguars!

-Happy Friday! The kids have worked so hard on the MAP test the past couple of weeks! We know it is just a snapshot of their academic performance, but we recognize the importance of performing our best. Thanks to all of you for your support.

-The end of the year is quickly approaching with lots of fun activities!!!

-Here are youth summer opportunities through the City of Lee's Summit!

-LSHS has several youth camp opportunities this summer!

-Mid-Continent Public Library offers great literacy opportunities for our kids!

-If your lil' Jaguar lost a coat, hat, gloves, lunch box, etc, we may have found it! Please remember to check the lost and found. The number of items found is growing.

-Thank you for your support in getting the kids to school on a daily basis. Our average daily attendance each month continues to be around 94% - 96%. That is great!

SVE ART AND WRITING CELEBRATION!

Here is information on this upcoming event on May 2!

-Please remember that only cash or check is accepted at this event if you are interested in purchasing student artwork.

SVE PTA Information

The PTA is calling for a unit meeting on Thursday May 10th right before the 6th grade DARE graduation at 2:15 pm. We invite all PTA members to attend. At this meeting, we will vote on the newly revised bylaws, as required every three years. These bylaws include an increase in PTA membership dues. Please look for these proposed revised bylaws on our website on or before May 4th so you can make an informed vote. Thank you! www.svepta.org

Student Chromebook Turn In Process

As we approach the end of the school year, technology wanted to share important information about your student’s district-provided Chromebook.

  • If a student’s Chromebook has physical damage right now -- such as broken keys or damage to the plastic housing -- please have your child turn it in immediately to have this damage fixed before the end of the year. This will ensure that technology has time to fix the device before it is stored for summer.

  • All students -- with the exception of students taking LSR-7 summer school classes -- will turn in their Chromebooks at the end of the school year. Watch for your student’s specific date of collection from the principal updates and memos as we get closer to the end of the year.

  • Students enrolled in summer school, including R-7 online courses, will take their Chromebooks home over the summer, turning them in when summer school ends.

For more information about the end-of-the-year Chromebook collection, please visit http://connect2learn.lsr7.org/faqs/. This website also includes the replacement cost for lost power supply equipment.
