Grandparents Day 2019
Grandparents Day is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th. Kindergarten - 4th grade students will attend mass with their grandparents at 10:00 a.m., and all students in K-8 will have lunch with their grandparents starting around 11:00 a.m. If you have grandchildren in grades K-4 only, then you will attend mass and have lunch with your grandchildren. If you have grandchildren in grades 5-8 only, you will not go to mass and may come at 11:00 for lunch with your grandchildren. If you are lucky enough to have grandchildren in both groups, you will attend mass with your older grandchildren and meet up with the younger ones for lunch on that day. Lunch on Grandparents Day is a carry in lunch for everyone. Fast food is allowed on this day, or maybe you can pack a special lunch from home for yourself and your grandparents. Students with their grandparents may eat lunch in the cafeteria, gym, classrooms, or outside if weather permits. We will ask for all grandparents to return their grandchildren to their classrooms after lunch by 11:45. It is a very special day for the students and their grandparents. (If grandparents happen to not be available, maybe a special aunt, uncle or family friend can come have lunch with your children.)
Want to get involved? Come to the first RPC meeting of the school year!
RPC is Resurrection’s version of a PTA but this organization encompasses the entire parish and school. Please come to the first meeting Wednesday, September 11th, at 6:00 in the Kreilein Conference room. Please enter through the cafeteria doors of the school. Childcare is provided by our 8th graders. Also…if you attend, your children will receive a free dress pass for Thursday for your attendance at the meeting. Door prizes are at this meeting as well. Come and get involved.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
This will allow the teachers extra time slots to meet with families. We will begin registering for conferences in September via Sycamore. Please watch for those details.
Wellness Policy
With Resurrection's Wellness Policy, we wanted to bring to parents attention if you are sending a snack to school to please send a healthy snack for their children. As far as for birthdays, we will recognize your children on announcements for their birthday. They will have a designated free dress day during the month of their birthday, and we will also provide an approved treat on the free dress day at lunch time. Please do not send in treats to school for your child’s class for his/her birthday.

Benefit Concert
On behalf of Amy Kirsch's family, we would like to invite you to join us in honoring and celebrating the life of Amy Kirsch. The Kirsch family are members of Resurrection. Their children (Victoria, Samantha, and Nicholas) are graduates of Resurrection. Amy was in a tragic accident this summer while rafting in Colorado. There will be a benefit concert featuring music missionary, John Angotti. John has traveled the world spreading hope, healing, and love through his inspirational music and lyrics.
John actually met Amy in 2011 when she helped coordinate a concert at Resurrection for two girls who also lost their lives too soon. John was instrumental in helping in the healing process of so many grieving. Amy, as well as the Resurrection community, were touched by his compassion, empathy, and willingness to help heal the hearts of the suffering.
Amy wasn't just family: she was a friend to all and a wonderful person with a beautiful soul. We know she would love for you to experience John's message of hope and faith.
Please join us in memory of Amy's strong faith by attending a concert featuring John Angotti. The concert will take place on September 28 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 5301 New Harmony Rd, Evansville, IN at 7:00 pm. While there will be no admission cost for the concert, donations will be accepted at the door to benefit Amy's family during this incredibly difficult time. Please contact us at either thebowshop@yahoo.com or smdale88@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to make a contribution and cannot attend.
