Important Information:
1. Prize Box is ALMOST EMPTY
We have almost run out of prizes in our prize box! This makes me a happy teacher because it means that my students are earning signatures for their great choices and behavior! However, it also means we need more prizes! Please send in prize box donations if you are able.... I would GREATLY appreciate it, and I know your 2nd graders would be thrilled

2. STUDY ISLAND is posted for Reading and Math this week!
However, many of you are mentioning that you cannot see MY assignments this week (only Mrs. Houston). Please email nturan@fultonscienceacademy.org if you are experiencing this problem. He will be able to fix it for your child.
3. Homework packet due 2/19!
It is uploaded to FSAconnect in your child's math section.
4. Bring in BOX TOPS for NJHS
The class who brings in the MOST wins the competition and a dress down day!
5. Dr. Seuss Day is coming SOON! (March 2)
This is SUCH a fun day for our elementary students celebrating reading and the awesome author Dr. Seuss! Students will even be able to dress up like a Seuss character (if they choose). I can't wait to see my fun 2nd graders and their costumes.

6. READ TO SUCCEED - SIX FLAGS LOG DUE FEBRUARY 24TH!
7. Uniform Reminder
Please make sure your child is coming to school in their proper school uniform EVERY day. Students are only permitted to wear their FSAPS fleece in the classroom, all other outside jackets will be stored in their cubbies.

Curriculum Corner
Reading/Language Arts:
Next week we will be reading a story called "The Night The Moon Fell". We will continue to practice adjectives and will practice adverbs too! We will also work on summarizing a story in our own words while using evidence from the text.
Ms. P's Math Class:
Students in Ms. P's class will finish up measuring VOLUME. We will take a quiz on Wednesday, February 17th. We will continue our measurement unit by returned to learn the customary units of measuring LENGTH! We are coming to a close with our measurement unit. Ms. P is very proud of her math students and their hard work during this unit. HOMEWORK PACKET can be used as the study guide for our quiz on Wednesday.
Ms. Minor's Math Class:
Ms. Minor's class is working on measurement and solving problems involving measurement. They will be focusing on Centimeters and Meters this week!
Science:
We are continuing our new chapter all about Plants and Animals this week! We are going to continue discussing animals by learning all about the different types of animal habitats.
Social Studies:
This week we are finishing up our Social Studies Economics unit. Students will work on reviewing together with a study guide, and will take their test on Thursday, February 18. Students will bring home their completed study guide on Wednesday night to review at home!
