January is a Busy Month!

Welcome Back to everyone! I trust that you all had a restful and enjoyable break! We have a busy January coming up and I thought it might be helpful to have some important dates listed for you-along with just some important information.


STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW

•CSUSM is looking for Master Teachers for their Spring Session. The coordinator tells me that she has some good candidates and that most of them are in their second assignment. Please let me know via email if you are interested, so that I can pass your name on to the District and to the University.

•All Tier 2 Reading and Math Interventions are finished until after Winter MAP assessment

•Don't forget to scan your Unit 3 Treasure's Assessment-Vero will assist you. (<:


IMPORTANT DATES

•1/8-Maggie's Club starts back up-This is such an wonderful program-"Service dogs" who are brought in to support children needing someone to read to and/or someone just to love. Please see Lydia if you have students who might benefit from this every other week opportunity-we may have some open slots.

•1/9-MAP Testing sign up meeting. We will meet in the Upper Media Center at 3:00 to sign up for MAP Testing-which will begin on January 22.

•1/10-Apple Training-do you have your sub scheduled-you may want to confirm...

•1/14-Reading Fluency Assessment begins

•1/15- PTO Staff Appreciation Breakfast-mark your calendars to attend

•1/17-Staff Meeting

•1/21-Martin Luther King Holiday-Yeah!!

•1/22-MAP assessment begins-No Computer Lab


I LOVE JANUARY!! It's always so great to see how much our Primary students have matured since September and our Upper grade students are well into the routines of their new grade level-so much quality instruction and learning happens between now and STAR testing! I also love seeing how our students have progressed on their January MAP assessment-it really gives us a clear indication of which interventions are working for which students and how we need to alter plans for some students-so exciting!
