Lincoln Elementary School Announcements 1-28-2021

PALS Valentine Fundraiser with CoCa Lena is going strong! Thank you, Lincoln Families!

A handout went home in the Blue Envelopes last week, but you can click here to view as well.

Once you're finished with sales, the order forms, with payment, should go in the PALS drop-box in the office. Everything needs to be turned in by next MONDAY, February 1st, so we can get it all delivered before Valentine's Day.

Early Release Days added to the District Calendar

On Monday evening, the Port Washington Saukville School Board approved changes to the school district calendar for the remainder of the current school year.

There will be six additional two-hour early releases on the following dates (which are all Wednesdays):

February 10, March 17, April 14 & 28, and May 5 & 19.

On these particular Wednesdays, the high school and middle school will release at 12:38pm, and the elementary schools at 1:30pm. These are shorter than our usual early releases.

These additional hours will allow for collaboration and planning among staff as well as additional contact time for synchronous students to receive additional support from their teachers.

Has your Lincoln Lion signed up for the Talent Show?

We were having some technical difficulties with our Google form for the LES Talent Show, but it's fixed and you can now sign up your Lincoln Lion for an act in the big show. Please click the link below!

Please contact Ms. Oftedahl with any questions, comments, or concerns at

Wanted: Pop tabs! For the Ronald McDonald House Charity

Just pop off the tabs from aluminum or tin cans and send them in with your Lincoln Lion at any time. Students can place them in the blue and yellow wooden bin in the hallway across from the office. As always, thank you for your support!

Mrs. Granrath's Article of the Week For Parents & Guardians

This week's article for parents, guardians, and caregivers comes from and it's called:

"How to keep kids active as the weather cools and the pandemic rolls on"

Please be sure to pack a change of clothes & mask in your child’s backpack

An extra mask, shirt, pair of sweatpants, and pair of socks are very helpful in case of run-ins

with puddles at recess or milk spills at lunch. We have a very limited supply

of items to loan, and when we run out, we will need to phone a parent to get dry

Cold Weather Reminders

Please be sure your child comes to school each day prepared for the weather. Winter coats, hats, and gloves are very important for keeping kids comfortable during recess. Students who choose to play on the snow hills, woodchips, or in the field at recess will be required to have snow pants and boots. Those students without boots and snow pants will be limited to playing on the blacktop only. Recess will be outdoors unless the temperature and/or wind chill drops below 0°.
