Stella & Dot and The Noreen Frasier Foundation

My Family Story

June started out like any other month for my mom, Janie Bazan. Religiously attending all of her yearly appointments including her mammogram. At the age of 61 she has had yearly mammograms over the past three decades due to breast and ovarian cancer running in her family. After two abnormal mammograms and a biopsy, Janie was diagnosed with early stages of breast cancer. Within two weeks of her routine mammogram, she was undergoing a lumpectomy. Staying strong for herself and the family, the surgeons delivered news that they hadn't gotten all of the cancer out. After second and third opinions and many prayers, she opted for a mastectomy. Since the surgery in late August, she has been in recovery mode, CANCER FREE! :)

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Stella & Dot is teaming up the Noreen Fraser Foundation and donating 100% of net proceeds to the organization. The Noreen Fraser Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for groundbreaking women's cancer research and raising awareness of the importance of early detection. In addition to Stella & Dot's donation to The Noreen Fraser Foundation, I will also donate a percentage of sales to a local Houston clinic that offers low cost mammograms in honor of my mother. Janie will be able to enjoy several more years of her life thanks to her yearly mammogram. And every woman should be able to be as fortunate.

So treat yourself, mom, sister, or friend to something from Stella & Dot's Breast Cancer Boutique. All of the proceeds benefit two fantastic organizations and will treat you to a beautiful piece of jewelry or accessory.

Please feel free to forward this to friends and family who have been affected by breast cancer. If you would like to Shop for a Cure with your friends, just let me know!
