Sibley East Elementary Newsletter - September 13-17, 2021

Dear Elementary Families:

As I type this Friday newsletter for all of you, I can't help but to feel so incredibly proud to be a part of Sibley East Schools! The past two days have been remarkable (maybe even magical) and it's because of the people--the students, staff, and all of you! I can tell already that this is going to be one amazing year! I hope you have a great weekend and get out to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Yours in Education,

Amanda Feterl

Sibley East Elementary Principal

First Day of School Fun!

Required Online Form & Contact Updates

If you did not attend back-to-school conferences, please be on the lookout for required paperwork coming home with the youngest student in your family next week.

One of the requirements is updating your emergency contact information and the other is completing the online form (walking field trip permission, photo consent, internet agreement, etc.). Click HERE to complete the online form now.

Please complete all necessary items and (if applicable) send back to school immediately. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Similarly, thank you to all of the families that already have these two requirements completed.

3rd - 5th Grade Students ONLY

If you have not done so already, please send the $25 technology fee (per child) to school as soon as possible. Cash must be sent in an envelope marked with your student's first and last name as well as the words "Technology Fee". Families can also pay the fee online with a credit card though our Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you do not have access to the Parent Portal, please contact Shelly Battcher.

The vast majority of student Chromebooks will remain at school for the time being. We want to be sure and cover specific lessons on topics such as digital citizenship, internet safety, and device care. If your child's teacher did send the Chromebook home today, please be sure to send it back on Monday with a fully charged battery. Thank you!

However, this does not include an extra milk during meal times, nor does it include a milk for students bringing their lunch from home. Students that would like an extra milk or a milk to drink with their home lunch can purchase one for $0.45. If you would like to deposit money in your student's lunch account for either of these reasons, please bring that money to the main office during conferences.

Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures

  • The school doors will open at 7:50 a.m. Families that drop off their student(s) must not do so before 7:50 a.m.
  • Also, families that drop off their student(s) will need to say their goodbyes at the main entrance. Visitors are not allowed in the school without prior approval from the principal.
  • DROPPING OFF: Families must remain in their vehicles and pull forward to allow the student(s) out of the vehicle when at the main entrance. If families are in need of exiting their vehicle, then the vehicle must be parked in the parking lot. Vacant cars cannot be parked in the driveway.
  • PICKING UP: Families must remain in their vehicles and pull forward to allow the student(s) to load the vehicle when at the blacktop/basketball courts near the playground equipment.
