Principal's Message

Dear Field Families,

Welcome to 2016!!

PUSD Open Enrollment applications will be accepted starting January 12, 2016. Kindergarten through fourth grade students returning to Field ES next year, do not need to apply through Open Enrollment. If you live outside of PUSD boundaries, you will need to renew your permit to leave your home district and enter PUSD before the end of the school year.

On January 5, our fourth and fifth grade students will have a special guest speaker-- Patrick Carman, author of Floors and other multimedia book series' for young readers. He will speak on his new book Voyagers, which is one part of six-part multi-platform book series. Families will have the opportunity to purchase this book after school on Tuesday. We are very excited to bring him to our campus through our partnership with Vroman's Bookstore.

Our next PTA meeting is on January 21, 2016, at 6:00pm. We will have a special guest from the Pasadena Conservatory of Music at this meeting. It is also time to create the Nomination Committee who will recruit for the 2016-2017 PTA Board.

Thank you to all of the families who supported our fundraiser during the Rose Parade Float viewing. Our fifth graders and their parents worked hard at promoting parking and selling snacks. One student even prepared a magic show! We made a new record and raised $4,700! These funds will go towards registration fees for the kids to go to a 3-day outdoor education school.

Finally, please be aware that there is no school on Monday, January 18, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Thank you,
Ria Apodaca
