December 14 Kardivas Pajama Party 5 - 7 pm

Instead of their usual, after school meeting, the Kardivas are having a pajama party at the Sweetwater Clubhouse from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, December 14. There will be a yummy BBQ dinner with all the fixin's, sweet treats, and hot cocoa.

J L Stevens -- December Volunteer of the Month

West Cypress is very fortunate to have wonderful, hard-working volunteers. This month we'd like to recognize Mr. J. L. Stevens as our December Volunteer of the Month. J. L. was nominated by WCHE staff because he has been a constant supporter of all things WCHE. He patrols the hallways as a WatchDOGS' dad, he helps our classroom teachers, volunteers to go on field trips, and he even conducted the puberty education sessions for our 5th grade boys--that, alone, deserving of a presidential medal!


Congratulations, J. L., and thank you for all that you do to make WCHE a great place to be!

Missing Anything?

If your child is missing eyeglasses, lunchboxes, water bottles, coats, and/or sweaters, check the WCHE Lost & Found! We have managed to collect a HUGE assortment of lovely things, and we would love to be able to return them to their rightful owners.


Small items, like eyeglasses, are in the Lost & Found at the Front Desk. Larger items and the clothing are in the Lost & Found collection just outside Tulley's Den (aka the Cafeteria.)

Volunteers Needed During Lunch Time

WCHE student lunches begin at 10:45 and end at 1:10. We'd love to have volunteers come in to assist students with opening their drinks, opening condiment packages, passing out plastic-ware and napkins, etc. If you're looking for something fun to do any time between 10:45 and 1:10, please sign up here. WCHE Holiday Dress Up Days

In the spirit of the holiday season, we would love to have students, parents, and teachers join us in some dress up days prior to our holiday break. This is an optional way to show your holiday spirit! Please join us in bringing even more holiday cheer to WCH!

December 19 - Classroom Holiday Party Schedules

Our classroom holiday parties are Tuesday, December 19. Parties begin at the following times:


Kindergarten........12:20 pm - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 3rd Grade............1:40 pm

1st Grade................9:30 am- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -4th Grade.............1:00 pm

2nd Grade...............9:00 am- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -5th Grade............2:00 pm


If you plan to attend, please RSVP so that you won't have to wait in line for your security badge.

Students Dismissed @ 11:55 am December 21

Students will be dismissed from school at 11:55 am on Thursday, December 21. There is no Extended Care available that day. If your child normally reports to Extended Care in the afternoons, please be sure to update your child's dismissal information in School Dismissal Manager to let us know the student's transportation arrangements: bus, walking, biking, or riding home by car at 11:55 am. School Dismissal Manager can be updated any time between now and 10 am on Thursday, December 21.

WCHE Annual Spelling Bee on January 11 at 1:30 pm

Our Annual Spelling Bee for 3rd-5th graders will be held January 11 in the Tiger’s Den (WCHE Cafeteria) at 1:30 pm. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend. Best of luck to our spellers...we have some outstanding students participating in this event!
