- Nothing that promotes the use of illegal substances or activities or are derogatory, disrespectful or depict violence (no blood, guts or gore).
No masks or weapons (nun chucks/sickles/swords/knives/guns, etc).
Students or parents who have questions about the acceptability of their costume should check with the front office prior to wearing the costume to school.

LCMS Spinal Screening
Lubbock-Cooper Middle School will be conducting a spinal screening on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. If not completed on this date, we will complete the screening during that same week. Screenings are for 8th grade boys and 7th grade girls.
The purpose of a spinal screening is for the early detection of abnormal curves in the spine at the earliest stages. Many times, if caught early, curvature of the spine is mild and requires only observation by a physician. Spinal curvatures can worsen as the child grows and require more aggressive treatment, such as bracing or surgery. Early detection and treatment can prevent the development of a severe spinal deformity which could affect both appearance and health.
The procedure for spinal screening is simple. School nurses will look at your child’s back while he/she stands and then bends forward at the waist (Forward-Bend Test). The following procedure will be used in the spinal screening:
• Girls will be seen separately and individually during the spinal screening.
• Students will wear shorts and t-shirt for the examination.
• In order for the spinal column to be thoroughly inspected by the screener, all students will remove their shirts during the examination.
• We request that girls wear a halter top, tube top, sports bra or a two-piece swim suit top under their shirt for the examination.
Parents will be notified of the spinal screening results only if a professional follow-up is necessary.

Absences - Parents are to report student absences including early outs/late arrivals in their Skyward Family Access via an attendance request. This can be done in the app or on a desktop. Click here to view a how to video When submitting an Early Out or Late Arrival absence request, please be sure to UNSELECT the ‘all day check mark’. This ensures the attendance office knows what time your child will be leaving and/or arriving. Campus attendance email is for submitting documentation, such as a doctors note. If you have any questions please contact Annie Young ayoung@lcisd.net or by calling the front office.
Outside Food Delivery - Due to security concerns, no outside entity (DoorDash, Pizza delivery, etc.) will be allowed to drop off lunches for students. Parents/Guardians may bring a lunch for their students. Lunches can be dropped off in the front office. Please be sure your student knows they are getting lunch so they can come pick it up in the office.
Skyward - Lubbock-Cooper ISD provides parents access to their children's records via our student information system, Skyward Family Access. Skyward Family Access maintains an open line of communication between school and home, and allows parents and students the opportunity to view grades, attendance information, schedules, calendars, and additional information any time of day. Skyward Family Access is available any place with an internet connection. Skyward Parent Link
